About the Program

About the Midrasha

A program that teaches and facilitates meaningful, lifelong Torah learning and Torah living for women!

Designed by Rabbi Robby and Shoshana Charnoff, the OU-JLIC Co-Directors and Educators at Queens College, and a team of 8 of your fellow students, HaMidrasha at QC answers the question of how to take intensive and consistent Torah learning and Jewish life into the college years and beyond! The program takes place in our on-campus Women’s Beit Midrash in the Queens Hall Library and focuses on developing core ideas and philosophies in Judaism as well as facilitating text-based learning. The program is divided into four components: Chumash, Nach, Halacha, and Hashkafa.

Through participating in the Midrasha you will gain:

  • The information women need to lead a knowledgeable, Torah-oriented life – both practically and philosophically.
  • A familiarity with books central to our tradition that women will need to consistently reference in daily life and learning.
  • A framework for practically meeting the challenges of balancing family, career, spirituality, and Torah learning for life!
